Terms of Use
Plain-language terms for a site with no accounts and no purchases. Read the whole thing — it's short.
Last updated October 4, 2026 · Applies to every page on this site (tools.tridentsocial.net), operated by Trident Social, Fort Collins, Colorado, US.
1. What this is
Trident Tools is a free collection of self-contained web calculators — the Indie Film Budget Calculator, the Aspect Ratio & Crop-Safe-Zone Calculator, the Export Time & File-Size Calculator — plus status pages for products that are not on sale here, such as Social Cut Commander (a Premiere Pro panel product in early access) and Poseidon software (self-hosted event-photo software, available by request only). By using this site, you agree to these terms. There's no account to create and nothing to accept beyond loading the page and using a tool.
2. Free to use, no purchase required
Every calculator on this site is free, with no usage limit, no paywall, and no signup. We may add new tools or retire old ones over time; nothing here is a subscription or a paid tier.
3. Estimates, not professional advice
The calculators produce planning estimates based on the numbers and assumptions you enter, or reasonable rule-of-thumb defaults where noted on each tool page. They are not legal, financial, tax, union-contract, or production advice, and none of the figures are guaranteed to be accurate, current, or complete for your situation:
- The Indie Film Budget Calculator shows approximate SAG-AFTRA rates and budget-tier ranges for planning purposes only. Always verify current SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, WGA, and DGA rates and agreement caps directly with those unions before making any offer, and have a qualified CPA confirm tax-incentive math before relying on it.
- The Aspect Ratio & Crop-Safe-Zone Calculator uses classic broadcast safe-zone conventions as a planning guide; every platform's actual UI differs and changes over time, so confirm in the app you're actually posting to before finalizing a crop.
- The Export Time & File-Size Calculator computes exact file size from the bitrate and duration you enter, but render-time estimates depend entirely on the encode-speed multiplier you supply from your own hardware — we have no way to know your machine's actual performance.
You're responsible for verifying any figure before acting on it. We are not liable for decisions made using these tools.
4. Provided "as is," no warranty
These tools are provided free and "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including no warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trident Social disclaims liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or its output.
5. Your data stays yours
Nothing you enter into a calculator is transmitted to us — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail. Any file you export (CSV, JSON, PDF) or save locally via the file-save feature is entirely yours; we retain no copy and claim no rights in it.
6. Acceptable use
Use these tools for their intended purpose. Don't attempt to disrupt, scrape at abusive volume, reverse-engineer for resale as a competing hosted product, or use the site to violate any applicable law. We reserve the right to block traffic that abuses the service at the infrastructure level (rate limiting, IP blocks) — this is a fleet operated on a shared Cloudflare Workers account, and abuse affects other tools on it.
7. Ownership & license to use
The tools, their code, design, and branding are owned by Trident Social. You're welcome to use them freely for your own projects, commercial or personal. You may not repackage, rehost, or resell these tools (or a derivative built from their source) as your own competing product without permission. Third-party platform names referenced by the aspect-ratio tool (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and similar) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe common export dimensions — Trident Social is not affiliated with, and this site is not endorsed by, any of them.
8. Social Cut Commander — separate, early-access product
The Social Cut Commander product page describes a Premiere Pro CEP panel suite that is, as stated on that page, an internal early-access build: unsigned, distributed on request, and not yet verified across every Premiere Pro host environment. It is offered with no support SLA and no uptime or compatibility guarantee. Installing and running unsigned extensions is done at your own discretion and risk, consistent with your own organization's software policies.
9. Poseidon software — self-hosted, request access only
The Poseidon software page describes event-photo software that a photographer installs and runs on their own computer or NAS. It is not sold or downloadable on this site; access is by request only. Any copy provided is provided "as is," with no support SLA and no uptime or compatibility guarantee. License terms for Poseidon, if it is offered, will be set out separately before anyone receives a copy.
Whoever installs and runs Poseidon (the operator) is responsible for that install, including:
- the photos and the face data (face templates) it creates and stores;
- telling guests about face search, getting their consent, and honoring requests to remove them;
- how long photos and face data are kept, backups included, and deleting them;
- the payment accounts connected to it, and any money taken through it;
- following the laws where they work, including biometric-privacy laws, and the rules of each venue.
Poseidon runs on the operator's own hardware. Trident Social does not host an operator's galleries, face data or guest payments. If Trident Social provides a relay for the camera's connection, the relay only forwards the camera's encrypted connection and stores nothing. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the tools change. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, US, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your own jurisdiction.
